What Colors Remember explores memory not as a faithful reconstruction of the past, but as a fragmented and continuously shifting presence.

Forms emerge from expansive fields of color and then recede into them. Fragments of fabric, floral patterns, spontaneous lines, stains, and textures appear like remnants that have survived forgetting. Some remain vivid; others are partially concealed beneath layers of paint - echoing the way memory preserves, alters, and erases.

Collage functions here not merely as a visual device, but as a material trace of memory. Each fragment carries the suggestion of a previous existence: something removed from one context and placed into another, where it acquires a new meaning. Through repeated acts of covering and revealing, constructing and erasing, the process of painting begins to resemble the act of remembering itself.

The works move between areas of visual silence and sudden concentrations of color, between spontaneous gestures and fragmented structures. What initially appears abstract gradually reveals traces of familiarity without allowing them to become fully defined.

Rather than reconstructing the past as it was, the series asks: What remains of an experience after its details have disappeared?

Perhaps memory does not preserve the entire image. Perhaps it keeps a color, a texture, or a fragment whose significance we can no longer explain.

What Colors Remember exists within that space - between what we remember, what we forget, and what remains within us without a name.
