Curatorial Statement
Traces of What Is No Longer Here explores the bird not simply as a living form, but as a trace - a shifting presence carrying fragments of memory, absence, and transformation.
Across the series, birds emerge from expansive fields of color through layered combinations of painting, collage, line, texture, and spontaneous gesture. Their bodies appear at times recognizable and at others fragmented, suspended somewhere between figuration and abstraction, as though continuously forming and dissolving.
Here, the bird is not the story itself, but what remains after the story has passed. A fragment of paper, a drawn line, a stain of color, or an empty space becomes evidence of something once present and subsequently transformed. In this sense, the bird and memory become intertwined: both move, disappear, and leave traces behind.
The series inhabits the subtle territory between presence and absence, permanence and transformation, memory and forgetting. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, each work remains deliberately open, inviting the viewer to encounter fragments of their own memories within its layers.
Ultimately, the bird becomes a visual language for the human condition - a transient presence moving through space, while its traces remain embedded in color, material, and silence.
